Ramgarh's proximity to the Thar Desert offers visitors a blend of desert landscapes, rural charm and local traditions. Situated near the India-Pakistan border, its historical Railway station was a significant point before the partition of India. The region held significant strategic importance during the 1971 Indo-Pakistani War. This is also the last station on Indian side on the railway line to Pakistan.
On December 4, 1971, following Pakistani airstrikes on Indian airfields, the Indian Army's 11 Infantry Division initiated its advance from Munabao, capturing key positions such as Gadra City and Khokhropar by December 5.
