Mana Sector, the First Village near the India-China border in Uttarakhand, is known for its stunning natural beauty and spiritual significance. The sector lies in the vicinity of Badrinath, a famous pilgrimage destination and is one of the highest inhabited villages in the Garhwal Himalayas. Mana's culture is a blend of Hindu mythology and Tibetan Buddhism, with the Bhotia people preserving distinct traditions and customs. The region’s rich cultural and historical heritage is reflected in its ancient temples, monasteries and time-honoured practices. It is also a base for treks to various peaks and offers an insight into the culture of the region. This village was declared the First Village by the Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi during the launch of Vibrant Villages Programme.
